A global Investment firm is embarking on a majorenterprise-wide modernisation programmeof work and requiring seniorData Architectto help shape the future of its data landscape.


This high-priority initiative will see the organisation move from complex legacy systems to amodern, cloud-based environment, leveraging the power ofAzure, Python, and Databricks. You will be central to designing the data architecture that underpins this transformation, ensuring data is scalable, secure, and built for both operational agility and strategic insight.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust, scalable data architecture on theMicrosoft Azurecloud platform.
  • Lead the adoption ofDatabricksand cloud-native tools to modernise legacy systems.
  • Define data standards, domains, and governance frameworks to support business-critical functions like trading, risk, operations, and regulatory reporting.
  • Build both real-time and batch data pipelines to support fast, data-driven decision-making.
  • Model enterprise data structures and ensure alignment across systems and teams.
  • Document metadata, lineage, and ownership to support compliance and transparency.
  • Collaborate closely withData Engineers,Software Developers, andBusiness Stakeholdersto align technical solutions with commercial needs.
  • Establish clear data quality metrics and processes to enforce data integrity and security.


Role Requirements:

  • Strong background as aData Architect, ideally withinfinancial services or commodities trading.
  • Proven experience withAzure,Databricks, and enterprisedata lakesolutions.
  • Hands-on experience withdata modelling,ETL/ELT pipelines, anddata integrationacross multiple systems.
  • Familiarity with tools likeKafka,Spark, and modernAPI-based architectures.
  • Experience with relational databases such asOracleandSQL Server.
  • Knowledge ofdata governance platformslike Purview or Collibra is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – able to bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution.
