We are looking for an experienced AWS Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions on the AWS platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud architecture, data modelling, and analytics services, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

Technical Expertise:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty certification.

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing data solutions on AWS using services such as AWS Redshift, Glue, Athena, EMR, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB.
• Proficiency in data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration using tools such as AWS Glue or Apache Spark.
• Strong understanding of cloud data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data streaming solutions using services like Kinesis.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Expertise in optimising data storage, query performance, and security in cloud environments.

Leadership and Communication:

• Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable architectural solutions.
• Strong communication skills to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in providing architectural guidance, best practices, and mentorship to development teams.

Project Delivery:

• Demonstrable experience in implementing end-to-end cloud data solutions, from initial design to deployment and optimisation.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices for data infrastructure.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Programming and Analytical Skills:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and performance optimisation for querying large datasets.

Nice to Have

• Experience with machine learning frameworks and integrating them with AWS services like SageMaker.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of third-party data tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Tableau.
• Experience with real-time analytics and event-driven architectures using tools such as Apache Kafka.
• Background in big data technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, or Cassandra.
