Job Description

Are you passionate about data engineering and technology management? We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data and Tech Manager to join our dynamic analytics team in Group Internal Audit. In this unique role, you will support our audit practice by building data pipelines, creating dashboards, and performing ad hoc analyses.

You'll work closely with a talented team of analysts, leveraging your expertise in PowerApps and Python to drive impactful projects. This position offers a blend of technical challenges and opportunities for visibility within the organization. What you'll be doing:

  • Scoping projects, guiding design, and embedding standardised practices and ways of working
  • Having expert knowledge of database management systems and understanding data systems within the business, contributing to improvements
  • Continuously developing processes to improve performance, ensuring code is scalable, portable, and reusable, and delivering data solutions timely and accurately
  • Leading stakeholder management and issue resolution, developing productive relationships, and providing advice on data solutions
  • Satisfying ad hoc data requirements from internal customers, acting as a conduit between business and technical teams, and advocating for data engineering best practices
  • Ensuring business and system changes follow best practices and the correct change process and methodology, including IT Change Management Standard, including vendor management, licence management etc.
  • Managing, motivating, and developing employees at all levels, in line with the Company's policies and procedures to maximise performance

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Having a degree in an appropriate subject or formal technical qualifications or experience
  • Demonstrating a proven track record of delivering structured BI and data warehousing solutions and applying recognised development and design methodologies
  • Communicating effectively with all levels of stakeholders and explaining complex data management issues to non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowing modern data paradigms within the cloud to maximise business value from data
  • Having experience with technologies like SharePoint, SSIS, Power Apps, Tableau, Oracle, MSSQL, Snowflake, Dataiku, and Alteryx
  • Having significant hands-on experience in a data/analytics and engineering team with a background in data engineering management
  • Demonstrating leadership skills, including clear communication, inspiring vision, logical decision-making, and appreciation of others' efforts
