Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst (SFIA Level 3) with a strong foundation in Python and/or SQL to join our consulting team. This role involves working in multidisciplinary teams to prepare, analyse, and visualise data to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have experience in ensuring data quality, linking datasets, and presenting insights in an accessible and meaningful way for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Preparation and Linkage: Ensure new and existing data models and pipelines are reusable and reproducible.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues.
- Prepare, clean, and transform data to ensure it is fit for purpose.
- Data Analysis and Synthesis: Undertake data profiling and source system analysis.
- Present insights clearly and concisely to colleagues, supporting effective use of data.
- Data Visualisation: Select and apply appropriate data visualisation techniques to tell focused, goal-driven stories.
- Develop inclusive and accessible visualisations that cater to diverse user needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure visualisations meet information requirements.
- Making Effective Decisions: Understand personal level of responsibility and empower others to make decisions where appropriate.
- Analyse and apply a range of credible information sources to support decision-making.
- Engage with stakeholders to consider the impact of decisions on end users.
Skills & Experience Required
- Working knowledge of Python and/or SQL.
- Experience with data preparation, cleansing, and quality resolution.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in data profiling.
- Ability to present insights clearly through effective visualisations.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of SFIA Level 3 competencies.
- Must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance.
