The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a data-driven and experienced Data Analyst to join our team in Stevenage, UK. You’ll be the primary contact for the Inventory Manager (IM) software and site analytics, managing inventory metrics, service KPIs, and driving process improvements through data-driven insights.

This is a remote role with occasional travel to client sites in Stevenage, typically a couple of times per month, so ideally you’ll be based within driving distance and hold a valid driving licence

This role will be a full-time, permanent position based at a leading pharmaceutical research and development site in Stevenage, UK. The facility is part of a major bioscience hub focused on advancing innovation in areas such as cell and gene therapy, and supports global efforts in life sciences research. Working hours: Monday to Friday, core hours

The Team

You’ll be part of Avantor’s Lab and Production Services (LPS) team, working closely with internal logistics, global metric support, and GSK stakeholders to ensure seamless inventory and service operations. This role is key to driving data-led decisions and continuous improvement across the site.

What we’re looking for
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in stock management, analytics, or related fields, preferably in a scientific environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in Excel, SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma, project management, and inventory systems
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver high-quality customer service
How you’ll thrive and create an impact
  • Manage all Inventory Manager (IM) administration tasks on-site, including Stock Keeping Units setup, stockroom updates, and service task requirements
  • Analyse IM consumption metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements to inventory and service processes
  • Deliver monthly metric packages and reports to GSK stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-making
  • Lead PI cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and monitor slow-moving or expired stock to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Act as the key liaison between and internal logistics teams, ensuring alignment on service levels and compliance
  • Support predictive modelling and process improvement initiatives to enhance Avantor’s Lab & Production Services capabilities on-site
