The Opportunity

Effective use of data is at the core of the transformation currently underway in the care sector, and we’re looking for someone to play an integral role. We're looking for a commercially-minded Data Analyst to join our analytics team and partner directly with our Commercial, Finance, and Product teams. This role offers exceptional breadth and autonomy: you'll help shape strategy with leadership, drive partner acquisition, support board reporting, and unlock insights from our rapidly-evolving platform. With ambitious growth targets and a lean team, you'll define how Lottie creates value from its unique data asset.

What does this role involve?

  • The ‘full-stack’ of data analytics tasks: building data pipelines, dashboards and reports, experimentation, and presenting insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating very closely with colleagues in Commercial, Product & Finance (these are the primary stakeholders of this particular role) to drive strategic decision making.
  • Writing clean, efficient, well documented SQL at a fast pace.
  • Experimenting with AI tools and integrations to enhance quality and internal productivity.
  • Contributing to a culture of curiosity and helping everyone at Lottie to better understand the business.

What problems will you be solving?

  • Driving commercial growth through data – harness data in BigQuery to identify acquisition opportunities, build compelling analyses in Hex that demonstrate platform value, and train team members to use Metabase to self-serve repeatedly.
  • Unlocking product intelligence – working across our modern analytics stack, uncover how care providers interact with our platform, using experiments and analytics techniques to understand cause and effect, and play a key role in communicating Found's value proposition across the business.
  • Enabling financial excellence and board-level insights – working with Finance to optimize processes, ensure accuracy, and support critical board reporting.
  • Building data products that ship fast – owning the full lifecycle of data products: from abstract stakeholder requirements to polished workflows, datasets, and dashboards.
  • Multiplying your impact with AI – utilising AI tools heavily throughout your work, finding innovative ways to accelerate analysis, generate insights faster, and deliver more value.

We think you’ll be a great fit if…

  • You're technically strong and move fast – have ~4 years of data analytics experience with advanced SQL proficiency, write complex queries, build clean data models at pace, and aren't intimidated by large datasets or technical challenges.
  • You're commercially-minded, not just technically-minded – have a natural ability to understand business context and identify opportunities that drive action.
  • You're an exceptional problem-solver – proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills, thrive on ambiguity, breaking down abstract requirements into actionable solutions with wide freedom.
  • You're a compelling communicator – proven experience influencing diverse stakeholders from technical teams to non-technical commercial leaders, can translate complex analyses into clear narratives and tailor your message for maximum impact.
  • You're analytically rigorous – demonstrate numerical and statistical aptitude through work, studies, or outside projects; know when to apply different analytical approaches and explain methodology clearly.
  • You're excited by AI's potential – actively use AI tools to enhance analytical workflows and productivity, constantly exploring new ways to work faster and deliver more value.

This role isn’t for you if…

  • Our mission to elevate later life care doesn’t resonate with you.
  • You prefer working in isolation rather than as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.
  • You're uncomfortable with ambiguity or prefer detailed specifications over problem-solving from first principles.
  • You haven't embraced AI tools in your work or aren't curious about AI's potential.
  • You prioritise perfect work over impact.
  • You're looking for a role where you can specialise in a specific area.

Interview Process

  • Initial screen with Hiring Manager (15 minutes)
  • First round interview led by Analytics & Strategy Director (30‑45 minutes)
  • Technical assessment interviews (x2, 45 mins each) with the Analytics & Strategy Director and Analytics Lead
  • Final interview with Will Donnelly (Lottie’s Co-Founder & CEO)

Candidate Experience

  • Pre-Screen & First Interview: you'll receive an email notification, but no specific feedback will be provided at this stage.
  • Hiring Manager Interview: if you are unsuccessful after this interview, you will receive constructive feedback via email.
  • Case Study: if you are not successful after the case study, you'll receive constructive feedback via email and be offered a debrief call with our Talent Lead.
  • Final Interview: for final-stage candidates who are not offered the role, we will provide your feedback live via a phone call.

Data Science Recruitment Trends 2025 (UK): What Job Seekers Need To Know About Today’s Hiring Process

Summary: UK data science hiring has shifted from title‑led CV screens to capability‑driven assessments that emphasise rigorous problem framing, high‑quality analytics & modelling, experiment/causality, production awareness (MLOps), governance/ethics, and measurable product or commercial impact. This guide explains what’s changed, what to expect in interviews & how to prepare—especially for product/data scientists, applied ML scientists, decision scientists, econometricians, growth/marketing analysts, and ML‑adjacent data scientists supporting LLM/AI products. Who this is for: Product/decision/data scientists, applied ML scientists, econometrics & causal inference specialists, experimentation leads, analytics engineers crossing into DS, ML generalists with strong statistics, and data scientists collaborating with platform/MLOps teams in the UK.

Why Data Science Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Data science once meant advanced statistics, machine learning models and coding in Python or R. In the UK today, it has become one of the most in-demand professions across sectors — from healthcare to finance, retail to government. But as the field matures, employers now expect more than technical modelling skills. Modern data science is multidisciplinary. It requires not just coding and algorithms, but also legal knowledge, ethical reasoning, psychological insight, linguistic clarity and human-centred design. Data scientists are expected to interpret, communicate and apply data responsibly, with awareness of law, human behaviour and accessibility. In this article, we’ll explore why data science careers in the UK are becoming more multidisciplinary, how these five disciplines intersect with data science, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to succeed in this transformed field.

Data Science Team Structures Explained: Who Does What in a Modern Data Science Department

Data science is one of the most in-demand, dynamic, and multidisciplinary areas in the UK tech and business landscape. Organisations from finance, retail, health, government, and beyond are using data to drive decisions, automate processes, personalise services, predict trends, detect fraud, and more. To do that well, companies don’t just need good data scientists; they need teams with clearly defined roles, responsibilities, workflows, collaboration, and governance. If you're aiming for a role in data science or recruiting for one, understanding the structure of a data science department—and who does what—can make all the difference. This article breaks down the key roles, how they interact across the lifecycle of a data science project, what skills and qualifications are typical in the UK, expected salary ranges, challenges, trends, and how to build or grow an effective team.
