Michelle Denny Recruitmentis partnering with an expanding insurance business headquartered in Diss to find an experiencedData Analystto join their close-knit team.


This role offers flexibility, allowing for hybrid or office-based work depending on your preference. With a salary of up to £45,000, plus additional company benefits and opportunities for career progression, this is an excellent opportunity.


The office's location is ideal for an easy commute, just a short distance from Diss train station on the main London route between Norwich and Ipswich.


It isessentialthat you live in the East Anglia region as this position is not open to candidates living outside the area and is not a remote role.


About the Role:

As aData Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the company, analyzing activity data, investigating trends, and making actionable recommendations to support business operations across all departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Use SQL to build, maintain, and optimize complex data sets and associated reports
  • Manage the ETL process, adapting and troubleshooting as needed to ensure data consistency
  • Conduct data quality assessments, identify gaps, and perform remediation actions
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements
  • Prepare reports and create data dashboards, graphs, and visualizations for various audiences within the company
  • Produce and track key performance indicators
  • Refine, update, and distribute existing reports to ensure accuracy and relevance as the business evolves
  • Use statistical tools to analyze data and forecast trends with actionable business insights
  • Process and deliver solutions to internal customer requests and queries efficiently
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement strategy by proactively identifying data issues, investigating errors, fixing root causes, and recognizing improvement opportunities
  • Promote process automation and self-serve solutions
  • Train end-users on new reports and dashboards
  • Stay updated on technology changes within the BI industry


Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in data analysis
  • Proficiency in MS SQL
  • Experience with Azure and other data tools
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI, including DAX

Bonus Skills (Desirable):

  • Proficiency in Excel, including VBA experience
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Experience with statistical software packages (R, SPSS, SaS, Stata)
  • Understanding of Python or other relevant coding languages
  • Knowledge of PowerShell and SharePoint
  • Experience with Data Warehousing
  • Degree in software engineering, computer science, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or a related field
