This is a full-time permanent position, based in our London office. We operate a hybrid working arrangement and require a minimum of 2 days in the office.

Role Description:


Reporting to the Barb Research Director, the Dovetail Data Analyst will work to deliver on Barb’s vision of an inclusive, audience-centric TV and video measurement that extends the scope of total viewing across content and advertising.


This role will combine data analysis and understanding of data science methodologies, leading on efforts to enhance our suite of audience reporting, including new Barb Panel Plus initiative which extends existing Dovetail reporting and combines fusion and calibration methodologies. In this role you will work closely with Barb, our stakeholders and data science and data integration teams to create clear briefs with the needs of the end client in mind, and oversee the testing and implementation of developments, as well as reviewing test data and signing off delivery. You will be involved in presenting data and testing findings to Barb and verifying client satisfaction with the end product in mind.


The Dovetail Data Analyst will interface closely with the product teams working on fusion and calibration methodologies. You will work to ensure smooth hand-offs for internal developments and providing an essential quality control over implementations to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the service.


As Dovetail Data Analyst, you will be responsible for content reporting of online viewing on small screens and connected TVs. You will have a thorough understanding of the calculations methodologies and client file specifications to support the Data Science and Data Integration teams in development, but also to support Client Service team in responding to end-user queries, as well as serving as an internal subject matter expert.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive efforts to enhance Dovetail/Panel Plus reporting, collaborating with stakeholders to identify new opportunities and working with internal teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Analyse, organize and present audience data in a clear and intuitive way, to derive actionable insights and recommendations
  • Prepare and present research findings, insights, and recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate closely with data science, data integration, data operations and other stakeholders to develop specifications that have the end data user in mind
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the Dovetail/Panel Plus file specifications and calculation methodologies, responding to internal and external queries
  • Establish a close and productive working relationship with the Barb executive and stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor on audience measurement


Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience with multiple types of data – panel data, census data
  • Experience and proficiency in the following:
  • Database management proficiency / SQL
  • Python (specifically for data analysis)
  • Data visualisation (Power BI)
  • Microsoft Office suite (Excel / PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Data Bricks, Snowflake)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to control communication flows; Client facing experience is an advantage.
  • Numerate and analytical, comfortable with advanced mathematical and statistical concepts, with some understanding of marketing science analytics
  • Experience of data analysis/and or analysing large datasets, Developer Skills are advantage
  • Quick learner & self-starter who can use technical Forums when stuck with issues and willingness in investing time & effort to understand datasets associated with this domain.
