Behind every meter is a wealth of data, and we’re looking for a skilled Data Analyst to help transform that data into actionable insight.

What you will be doing as the Data Analyst: In this pivotal role, you’ll support the delivery of Thames Water’s smart metering rollout by providing critical data insight and reporting across all stages of the programme. You will be responsible for tracking rollout progress and managing campaign performance, including pre- and post-installation analysis. This will involve assessing a wide range of factors, such as customer property types, meter and asset bases, communication network availability, regulatory obligations, stock levels, and budgetary constraints.

Working closely with the Data and Strategy Manager, you’ll help evaluate programme outputs and outcomes, translating complex findings into clear, actionable insight for the wider business. You’ll also collaborate with the Smart Metering Operations Centre (SMOC) team to monitor key activities and processes, identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements to ensure smooth and effective delivery of the programme.

Key accountabilities

- Provide accurate and timely metering-related data and insight to relevant business units.
- Support strategic initiatives and change programmes through data-driven analysis and recommendations.
- Contribute to both pre- and post-installation activities for smart metering campaigns and operational jobs.
- Analyse large datasets, create insightful reports, and present findings to stakeholders to inform decision-making and drive process efficiency.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of reporting tools and dashboards, focusing on key metering performance indicators.

What you should bring to the role:

- Proven ability to analyse data, generate actionable insight, and present clear recommendations to stakeholders at various levels.
- A solid understanding of databases, data interfaces, business systems, and workforce management solutions.
- Awareness of data protection requirements, with a commitment to GDPR compliance.
- Hands-on experience with advanced Excel functions and advanced SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Working knowledge of Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
- Exposure to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is highly desirable.

Location: Hybrid - Langley Bus Park - Slough, Berkshire.

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
