We’re looking for a talented Data Analyst to join our team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Household is Admiral’s fastest-growing product, with exciting opportunities to improve both Loss Ratio and Customer Experience. This role sits within the Household Data Insights team and works closely with senior management to deliver impactful insights from raw data sources.

This role is based in our Cardiff office, with the expectation of working onsite once a week.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Data Analyst, you’ll collaborate with the wider team to turn data into actionable business insights. You’ll need to be forward-thinking, autonomous, and comfortable engaging with stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

Data Reporting

  • Work with diverse data sources across multiple platforms.
  • Create user-friendly dashboards and spreadsheets.
  • Tailor reporting to stakeholder needs while aligning with business data strategy.
  • Continuously improve and update reporting tools to enhance efficiency.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Deliver insights alongside data requests in a meaningful and accessible way.

Agile Working

  • Collaborate with the team to deliver work within Agile sprints.
  • Manage your own workload and keep stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Solve problems independently and proactively.

Best Practice & Governance

  • Embed data ethics and governance in all outputs.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation throughout project lifecycles.
  • Share knowledge and promote best practices within the team.

What We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who is passionate about data and thrives on solving problems creatively. You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Love working with data: Proficient in Excel, with experience or interest in SQL (especially BigQuery). Familiarity with Looker is a plus.
  • Think analytically: You enjoy exploring data, spotting trends, and improving processes.
  • Communicate clearly: Able to explain complex ideas to a broad audience and work cross-functionally.
  • Work flexibly and independently: Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in an Agile environment.
  • Take initiative: You challenge the status quo and suggest better ways of working.
