About the role

In this role, you will support the Data team in delivering timely, accurate, and easy-to-interpret data outputs and reports. You’ll collaborate across the organisation—partnering with stakeholders who possess a wide range of data literacy levels—to understand their needs, answer questions, and help them derive insight from our data.

At the same time, you’ll own and maintain key data models and dashboards, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement and spotting potential issues before they arise. As our team continues to grow, you’ll have ample chance to build both your technical expertise and your interpersonal skills, contributing to a dynamic environment where your suggestions for process improvements and innovative solutions are highly valued.

What you will be doing

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Using your proficiency with data warehousing and good knowledge of our data systems to make suggestions on how to improve or develop new models and solve data problems as they arise.

  • Taking responsibility for building and maintaining data models in the warehouse and BI tool. 

  • Designing and building data visualisations with our BI tool. 

  • Taking ownership of diagnosing and solving  data issues, collaborating with relevant parties where appropriate both internal and external ( third party vendors and other internal data teams) to work toward resolution.

  • Maintaining communication and managing technical and data related questions from the business or clients.

  • Acting as a data ambassador to the business, and upskilling colleagues where appropriate.

  • Ensuring that data and dashboards are appropriately documented and that this documentation is easily accessible to all who need it.

  • Consulting with stakeholders to gather requirements and assist with translating non technical requirements into technical, data driven solutions.

  • Staying up to date with new BI tool releases and communicating these to our BI tool users to ensure we take full advantage of the capabilities.

 

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate: 

  • SQL Proficiency & Data Best Practices:You’ll have a solid working knowledge of SQL and an understanding of data governance, modelling, and quality principles.
  • BI & Visualization Expertise:You’ll be able to point to successful implementations using data-visualization or business-intelligence tools, turning raw data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Technical Curiosity & Process Improvement: You’ll bring an appetite to learn new technologies and a mindset for continuously refining workflows to boost team efficiency.
  • Requirements Translation: You’ll excel at converting non-technical stakeholder needs into precise, data-driven solutions.
  • Web Data Skills: You’ll have exposure to CSS, JSON, and JavaScript, enabling you to understand and enhance any embedded or front-end data components.
  • Effective Communication: You’ll possess strong verbal and written skills, adapting your message to audiences with varying levels of data literacy.
  • Agile Adaptability: You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment—eager to pick up new techniques and iterate rapidly.
  • Data Advocacy: You’ll demonstrate a genuine interest in helping colleagues and customers become more data-driven, fostering a culture of insight across the organisation.
  • Problem-Solving: You’ll bring sharp analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues in our data ecosystem.
