In support of our portfolio of 2700+ hybrid and open access scientific journals, you will actively contribute to advancing science, improving health outcomes, and fostering equitable participation in publishing. About the Role:The role of the Data Analyst I is to provide support to the STMJ Data & Analytics team to deliver analytics solutions & insights to our internal users. In this role you will be utilising analytics technologies such as SQL, data warehousing, Excel and Tableau dashboards to produce data outputs & analyses This is an entry-level position in an internal-facing team and you would be supported with internal training resources and by more senior data analysts to help guide you in developing your data analyst skills. The Data Analyst I role is mapped to a dedicated Data & Analytics career framework, which clear development opportunities and career path options.Responsibilities: Support and learn from more senior analysts by contributing to analytics tasks and projects Receive and interpret requests from business users and identify the appropriate analytics solution for those requests Extract, clean and blend data to prepare it for analysis Perform analysis on data and prepare appropriate insights to share with internal users Communicate analytics findings and outputs to internal users, participating in presentations where necessary Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and drive value within the team Requirements: Has knowledge of common analytics technologies such as SQL, relational databases, Excel and has used some of these tools Can apply basic techniques to blend data sources and run quality checks to prepare data for analysis* Has knowledge of basic statistical analysis concepts and where to use them* Able to identify, create and present the appropriate data visualizations to address a business problem* Be detail-orientated and possess excellent problem-solving skills Work in a way that works for youWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
