You'll be working across the company's suite of short-term forecasting tools, which has been built by a combination of machine-learning, optimisation and fundamental models within the short-term trading space.

The business is already a well established leader within their domain. However, they like to keep team sizes quite small as they want people to have a major say and influence on projects.
Role Overview:
- Coding knowledge, in C#, Python or another equivalent language
- Experience of the energy power markets
- An appetite for problem-solving, turning real-world challenges into impactful tools
- Interpersonal, organisational and project management skills
- Writing, data analysis and presentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection & Management:
- Gather, clean, and organize large sets of energy market data (including pricing, volumes, weather data, and economic indicators) from internal and external sources.
- Market Analysis:
- Analyze market trends, price movements, and trade activity to provide insights that inform trading strategies and operational decisions.
- Reporting & Visualization:
- Create detailed reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate complex data in an easily understandable format for internal stakeholders.
- Predictive Modeling & Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain statistical models to forecast energy prices, demand fluctuations, and other key metrics using historical data.
- Collaboration with Traders & Analysts:
- Work closely with traders, risk managers, and other analysts to provide real-time insights and data-driven recommendations to improve trading strategies and market positioning.
- Automation & Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to automate data collection, reporting, and analysis processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all data analysis and reporting are compliant with regulatory standards and internal risk management protocols.
The successful Data Analyst will earn up to £50,000 and in addition there are exceptional benefits which come as part of the overall package including: 15% Bonus, 8% Pension contribution, training fund, weekly team lunches, travel loans and numerous soft leisurely benefits. The team tends to come together 2 days a week for some collaboration, but only when it adds value to do so.
