The 50-person team works with our corporate commercial leadership team around the globe on the development of optimal trading and risk management processes for expanded Crude, NGL, gas and LNG activities. In addition, the team works closely with our colleagues in our producing business units.Position OverviewRole OverviewThe Senior Technical Analyst will serve as a strategic and hands-on leader supporting ConocoPhillips’ global Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platforms. This role bridges the gap between trading operations and IT, providing deep technical expertise and functional insight across commodities including LNG, Gas, Power, Crude, and NGL. The analyst will work closely with front-office traders, risk managers, and IT teams to ensure platform stability, scalability, and alignment with commercial strategies.## Primary Role Objectives* ETRM Platform Accountability: Lead technical and functional support for platforms such as TriplePoint, RightAngle, Allegro, and Endur, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with trading workflows.* Trading Floor Engagement: Act as the primary IT liaison on the trade floor, translating trading needs into system capabilities and enhancements.* Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on support in SQL, .NET, C#, and integration tools to troubleshoot, enhance, and optimize trading systems.* Functional Expertise: Collaborate with trading, risk, scheduling, and compliance teams to define and deliver system enhancements that improve operational efficiency and decision-making.* Data & Analytics Enablement: Partner with local and corporate data engineering teams to ensure real-time, high-quality data availability for trading and risk analytics using tools like Power BI and Spotfire.* Project Delivery: Lead Agile-based initiatives to modernize legacy systems, implement new capabilities, and drive digital transformation across the trading organization.* Vendor & IT Coordination: Serve as a key interface between business users, software vendors, and enterprise IT teams to resolve issues and deliver solutions.* Mentorship & Training: Guide and mentor junior analysts, fostering technical and functional growth within the Commercial IT team.* Infrastructure Support: Provide basic desktop and infrastructure support as needed to ensure seamless trading operations.Competency Requirements* Legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom* 10+ years of experience supporting business or technical applications* 5+ years of experience with ETRM applications like RightAngle, Endur, Planlogic, Allegro, etc.* A bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
