Commercial Director of our GridFlex team

at Ohme, you will drive and shape the positioning and monetisation of our energy solutions, helping our customers get the maximum benefit from their part in the energy transition.We have a massive – and very fast growing – fleet of residential electric vehicle chargers. We have an incredible latent opportunity to derive value for our customers from their plugging in and charging behaviours across a range of current and future energy markets.We are looking for a talented Director to lead and empower a team responsible for the commercial management, product design and revenue maximisation for Ohme’s services related to grid-connected flexible assets.What we need from you: Your key responsibilities will include planning, developing and implementing our commercial strategies in support of our GridFlex business development and building on the team’s growth.You will be the point person on financial and performance target setting, opportunity cost, bidding, risk management, asset baselining and performance verification.This means you will be able to identify future opportunities for us to participate in capacity, balancing, wholesale and flexibility services and help both our policy and regulation team and product teams understand the evolutions required.You’ll be familiar with the probabilistic nature of decentralised devices (like EV chargers) and keen to bring these to bear in energy markets structured for bigger, deterministic assets.You will understand and be able to communicate market conditions and industry trends, including other parties’ behaviour and other exogenous factors.You will love analysing the performance of our fleets through analysis, in conjunction with our data scientists and business analysts.Finally, you will engage regularly with industry groups, regulatory bodies and other organizations to stay informed and influence the energy landscape.Who you are: You will be a genuine expert in GB energy markets, used to dealing with their complexities and vagaries.You will be creative, with an ability to bridge between what conventional markets require and what our fleet is able to deliver.You will be relentlessly commercial, driven by the opportunity to maximise value for our customers.You'll live our values: Move fast, be brave, push the bar, take ownership and be transparent.
