We currently have a vacancy for a Commercial Data Analyst to join our Commercial Team.

As a Commercial Analyst, you will provide detailed data analysis and market intelligence to support operational commercial activity. This involves designing and delivering effective reporting, dashboards, and data visualisations that offer detailed information on market segments, position, and trends.

You will also proactively develop the Combined Authority’s commercial business intelligence by creating self-service intelligence products, including interactive dashboards, to promote data-driven decision-making on strategic, operational, and financial issues.

Your work will involve developing and maintaining automated data processes to feed these web-based dashboards, increasing efficiency and reducing time-to-insight. Additionally, you will undertake advanced analysis to generate insights that shape and influence commercial strategy, policies, and operations, disseminating these insights to advise senior managers, local authority partners, and politicians.

The Role

Reporting into the Commercial Policy, Process and Systems Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

· To provide detailed data analysis and market intelligence in support of operational commercial activity.

· Design, develop and deliver effective reporting, dashboards and data visualisation that provide detailed information on market segments, position and trends.

· Proactively drive the development of the Combined Authority’s commercial business intelligence through the creation of a coherent suite of self-service intelligence products (including interactive dashboards), ensuring they are responsive to business needs, whilst maximising their reach to promote data-driven decision making relating to key strategic, operational and financial issues.

· Develop and maintain semi- and fully-automated data processes to feed web-based interactive dashboards to increase efficiency and reduce the time-to-insight.

· Undertake a range of advanced analyses to generate insight to shape and influence commercial strategy, commercial policies, and commercial operations in respect of the

Combined Authority’s Commercial activity, disseminating these as insights to advise senior managers across the Combined Authority, local authority partners, politicians and the adult skills provider community.

About You

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

· Educated to degree level or equivalent, with relevant education/ experience.

· Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.

· Experience of working in a commercial function or organisation.

· Experience of effectively contributing to team objectives.

· Experience of successfully identifying appropriate communication channels to deliver information.
