To be successful as a Cloud Engineer, you will need the following:

Essential

  • Experience in cloud engineering, including deployment of GUI applications, data transformation, automation, and data storage solutions. Ability to proactively identify solutions and optimize systems and processes.
  • Broad experience with AWS Cloud technologies, including management and governance tools such as Lambda, Auto Scaling, VPC, EC2, KMS, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, Redshift.
  • Experience supporting analytics use cases from ML Ops and data hydration perspectives.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion, identify risks and costs, challenge architecture, and ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Understanding of different project methodologies, lifecycles, phases, dependencies, and milestones, along with effective stakeholder management.

Desirable Skills/Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience processing real-time event data.
  • Practical knowledge of full-stack web development.
  • Knowledge of Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Fundamental knowledge of web, networks (proxies, VPN, DNS, web and mail servers), and cybersecurity.
  • Awareness of social engineering tactics used by cybercriminals, especially in scams and frauds.

You may be assessed on key skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technical skills.

The successful candidate will be based in Knutsford or Northampton.

Purpose of the role

Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products supporting applications and data systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security using hardware, software, networks, and cloud platforms. Ensure system reliability, availability, and scalability through automation and best practices in incident response.

Accountabilities

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet business needs, optimizing technology choices for performance and resource efficiency.
  • Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify and resolve issues, vulnerabilities, or outages, utilizing data to reduce resolution times.
  • Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Implement security measures to protect infrastructure from cyber threats, including hardware, software, and data protection.
  • Collaborate across teams with product managers, architects, and engineers to define requirements and ensure seamless system integration.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and contribute to technology communities to promote technical excellence.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • Lead a team or guide collaborative projects, setting objectives, coaching, and evaluating performance.
