Business Systems Developer
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid - 2-3 days per week on-site in Welwyn Garden City
Department: Data & Systems Team
Reports to: Data & Systems Manager

A dynamic and forward-thinking organisation is seeking a Business Systems Developer to join its Data & Systems Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level professional with hands-on experience in ERP systems, automation, and business process optimisation to contribute to a growing business's digital transformation journey.

The Business Systems Developer will serve as the primary administrator for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring stability, security, and scalability of core systems. This role will play a crucial part in streamlining workflows across finance, operations, and reporting functions, with a focus on reducing manual processes and driving automation.

This position offers clear progression opportunities, with scope to grow into a more senior or leadership role as the business expands its systems and digital strategy. While the role currently has no direct reports, prior team leadership or management experience would be highly advantageous for future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support Dynamics 365 Business Central, including custom AL extensions, configurations, and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement using tools like Power Automate and APIs.
Support integrations with CRM, finance platforms, and e-commerce systems.
Maintain data integrity across systems and contribute to the development of Power BI dashboards.
Provide user training, documentation, and ongoing support to improve adoption and system efficiency.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of a future ERP migration to Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain.Key Skills & Experience:

Essential:

Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or equivalent ERP systems.
Strong understanding of finance, supply chain, and operational workflows within an ERP environment.
Experience with automation and integration tools such as Power Automate and APIs.
Proficient in data reporting tools including Power BI and SQL.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and stakeholder communication skills.Desirable:

Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain.
Experience supporting large-scale ERP implementations or migrations.
Previous management or team leadership experience.
Relevant ERP certifications (preferred but not essential).Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a passion for leveraging technology to improve business performance. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, taking ownership of system challenges, and delivering innovative yet practical solutions.
