Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Manager to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a market competitive salary depending on experience.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As Business Intelligence Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in leading on the planning, coordinating, and supervising activities related to the design, development, and implementation of function/organizational reporting and analytics, while also ensuring the maintenance, support, and upgrade of reports, dashboards, and data warehouses. The Business Intelligence Manager will collaborate with multiple departments to support data-driven decision making and enhance performance of organisation strategy.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Manager:

  • Establish a Data Quality Management process
  • Work closely with related managers to establish automated processes as required.
  • Standardize Reporting and Dashboard for all Human Appeal family and departments
  • Implement a Data Analytics and Insights function
  • Manage and Collaboration with key stakeholders

What we're looking for in our Business Intelligence Manager:

  • Must have a degree in Business Intelligence or IT related equivalent and a project management qualification or extensive experience
  • Must have a strong background in business intelligence, data governance, and analytics, with proven leadership skills to standardize and improve data processes across the organization
  • Experience in project planning, execution, and delivery.
    Desirable:
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Advanced Administrator, or Tableau certifications).
  • Certifications in data analytics or business intelligence tools, such as Tableau Specialist or Power BI Data Analyst.
  • Nonprofit/Charity Sector Experience
  • Advanced Analytics Knowledge
    Skills:
  • Data analytics and reporting tools such as Power Bi
  • Proficiency in BI Tools: Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, or similar.
  • Data Analysis: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and insights from data.
  • SQL and Data Warehousing (If applicable): Expertise in SQL and data warehousing concepts.
  • Data Management: Understanding of data management disciplines and best practices.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages such as Arabic and Urdu are desirable
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector

  • Safeguarding bright futures for more than 50,000 vulnerable orphans in 9 countries. Our one-to-one sponsorship programme has a built-in school attendance requirement while covering the cost of food, housing, medical care, and learning materials.
  • Pioneering technologically innovative infrastructure projects in Pakistan, like designing and building a 25-km embankment on the Chenab River in Pakistan. Protecting an entire community from being washed away, the embankment has held back the floods each year, including Pakistan's worst flooding in a decade during its last monsoon season.

  • Recovering lost livelihoods for vulnerable farmers in Gaza by planting 80,000 olive trees since 1991. The farming project provides each farmer with 30-40 prime olive trees so they can establish a vibrant, sustainable crop that yields not just food but income for generations.
  • Restoring safe and secure residential spaces in Syria, like the construction of a new town with 1,000 newly constructed homes in Al Zahoor.
