The EU-NFT team is looking for a customer-focused Business Intelligence Engineer with strong analytical and technical expertise to drive performance measurement, innovation, and execution within Fulfillment Center Operations. This role plays a critical part in optimizing Amazon's fulfillment network—enhancing the customer experience through faster delivery promises and enabling cost-efficient fulfillment planning and execution. Partnering with Fulfillment Center Operations and data teams, you will develop analytics dashboards, deep-dive tools, and influence product roadmaps using data insights and AWS services.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE I), your responsibilities include:

  1. Manage Customer Requests: Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions, including dashboards, tools, and scalable pipelines.

  3. Drive Operational Excellence: Establish and promote best practices for efficient, scalable, and reliable data solutions.

A day in the life

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you'll collaborate with Fulfillment Center Operations and data teams to develop scalable data solutions that drive performance. Your day involves:

  • Analyzing large datasets to uncover trends, solve complex challenges, and influence leadership decisions.

About the team

The Network Flow and Technologies (NFT) team is responsible for building data solutions that drive operational efficiency and enhance the Amazon customer experience. We own the results, not just the technology. We rigorously audit outputs with metrics and experiments, ensuring accuracy and holding dependencies accountable for input quality.

Experience and qualifications

  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or R).
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience in the data/BI space.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree or advanced technical degree.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design.

Pre-Employment Checks for Data Science Jobs: DBS, References & Right-to-Work and more Explained

Pre-employment screening in data science reflects the discipline's unique position at the intersection of statistical analysis, machine learning innovation, and strategic business intelligence. Data scientists often have privileged access to comprehensive datasets, proprietary algorithms, and business-critical insights that form the foundation of organisational strategy and competitive positioning. The data science industry operates within complex regulatory frameworks spanning GDPR, sector-specific data protection requirements, and emerging AI governance regulations. Data scientists must demonstrate not only technical competence in statistical modelling and machine learning but also deep understanding of research ethics, data privacy principles, and the societal implications of algorithmic decision-making. Modern data science roles frequently involve analysing personally identifiable information, financial data, healthcare records, and sensitive business intelligence across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks simultaneously. The combination of analytical privilege, predictive capabilities, and strategic influence makes thorough candidate verification essential for maintaining compliance, security, and public trust in data-driven insights and automated systems.
