Are you ready to take the next step in your data and analytics career? We're offering a fixed-term opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join us as a BI Developer at Trust Alliance Group.


As a BI Developer, you will play a vital role in enhancing our business intelligence capabilities by developing and maintaining data solutions that support informed decision-making across the organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has a passion for turning data into actionable insights, and thrives on delivering high-quality reporting and analysis.

Trust Alliance Group was formed in 2022 and comprises several businesses that were previously part of Ombudsman Services. To deliver on our purpose of building and maintaining trust between consumers and businesses, we’re developing diverse capabilities and expertise in a range of areas including digital alternative dispute resolution and case management technology.

What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Championing the use of data across the group and promoting data-first thinking from the inception of all projects
  • Working towards establishing Data Experts within the departments that you are engaged with
  • Acting as a trusted consultant to stakeholders and external partners, including regulators and government bodies
  • Developing actionable, high-impact dashboards and reports, leveraging both internal and third-party data
  • Reporting on data quality and process consistency via our Fabric Lakehouse and creating control and exception dashboards to proactively manage data integrity.
  • Supporting the evolution of our federated data model, contributing to a decentralised yet aligned approach that balances autonomy and standards.
  • Collaborating with internal and external customers to identify opportunities to improve process and decision making.
  • Contributing to agile and waterfall project delivery via task and project management systems, while maintaining clear documentation and sharing best practices across the team.
  • Mentoring colleagues and supporting the growth of a high-performing Data Team
  • Leading research into emerging BI platforms and technologies and working towards certifications and accreditations aligned with establishing a Data Centre of Excellence.
  • Continuously seeking out new ways to add value through data, with a commercial mindset, objectivity, and a drive for excellence.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:


  • Hands-on experience with the Microsoft BI Stack
  • The ability to interpret, transform, and visualise data in ways that bring clarity and focus to decision-making
  • A solid understanding of data modelling concepts, supporting scalable, efficient structures that we can build on as our data estate evolves.
  • Awareness of data governance, quality, and compliance principles recognising the importance of trust in the numbers we surface.
  • Strong Excel skills for quick-turnaround analysis, including the use of advanced formulas, pivot tables, and charts to supplement longer-term reporting solutions.
  • Familiarity with the concept of row and column-level approaches to data access.
  • Ability to analyse business challenges and communicate clear, strategic solution options to stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Power BI — from data shaping to dashboard publication — with an appetite to keep pushing the platform further.
  • High level of confidence in SQL and any exposure to Microsoft Fabric
