Our client is a fast-growing, PE backed international group that has achieved impressive growth through a dynamic M&A strategy. With a diverse client base spanning both the public and private sectors, the company is a leader in its field, delivering services that have a positive environmental impact on communities. With revenues approaching £1bn, the organisation is primed for continued expansion.

As the business continues to expand, a new Group BI Analyst role is being established. Reporting to senior management, the successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging data to generate actionable insights that support financial and operational decision-making. This role combines expertise in business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, with proficiency in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Finance Consolidation tools.

You’ll work closely with Group Finance and other functions to design and maintain reporting solutions that drive efficiency and strategic growth, while also supporting regional teams with local reporting implementations and promoting a consistent Group-wide approach.

Key Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and the EPM tool (Board International) to support financial & operational analysis, as well as the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Managing and developing the ETL process for data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.
Working with end users to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
Being one of the day-to-day contacts for the third-party support providers for EPM and consolidation tools.
Performing data analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimisation or revenue growth.
Ensuring data integrity and compliance with organisational policies.
Providing training and support to end-users on BI, EPM tools, and financial consolidation systems.
Automating repetitive reporting tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Staying updated on industry trends and advancements in BI and financial systems technology.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced BI Analyst/Systems accountant who can demonstrate the following technical skills:
Proven expertise in Power BI for creating advanced visualizations and data models.
Hands-on experience with EPM tools such as Board International, TM1, or similar platforms.
Hands-on experience with consolidation tools such as SAPFC, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, OneStream or similar platforms.
Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting terminology & concepts.
Experience with ETL processes and data integration from Finance, ERP, HR and operational systems.
Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VBA / Python) for ad-hoc analysis.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms, in particular Azure Data Factory, is a plus.

In addition you will be an agile self-starter with an analytical mindset. You will have excellent communication and relationship management skills, being able to communicate technical insights to non-technical audiences, whilst supporting with continued training and development of colleagues. You will be a team plyer with intellectual curiosity, always looking to develop innovative solutions, making the best use of the available data, and staying updated with emerging reporting tools and technologies.
