Business Development Manager – Software

Location: Central London, UK | Compensation: Base Salary £45k-£60k + performance-based commission (Circa £30k OTE) + equity incentives
Work Arrangement: Flexible hybrid model, with 2–3 days in the central London office weekly

The Role
Business development in nature, this role requires a well-researched and highly targeted approach to identifying and engaging potential clients. Success begins with a deep understanding of the value add for industries served; Insurance, Utilities, Construction, Property Management, Infrastructure and Local Government.
As the product is highly technical, you will need to become a true subject matter expert, developing an in-depth understanding of the technology, its applications and the value it delivers. The sales process is consultative and strategic, with deal cycles typically spanning 1 to 6 months.
What You’ll Be Doing
Expanding Business Opportunities

  • Identify, engage, and convert new prospects into long-term customers.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle—from research and lead generation to presenting tailored solutions, negotiating agreements, and closing deals.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with enterprise-level clients, discovering opportunities for growth and revenue expansion.
    Delivering Strategic Solutions
  • Partner with clients to deeply understand their challenges and align solutions to their specific goals, whether in risk management, property oversight, or asset tracking.
  • Craft custom proposals and business strategies to demonstrate clear value and ROI.
  • Act as a trusted partner, providing insights and recommendations that contribute to their long-term success.
    Driving Market Insights and Growth
  • Monitor industry trends, identify emerging markets, and stay ahead of competitive developments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine solutions and ensure offerings remain cutting-edge.
  • Provide actionable feedback to influence product development and business strategy.
    Achieving Sales Excellence
  • Meet or exceed sales targets, including new business acquisition and existing client expansion.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline to forecast and track performance effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within your portfolio to maximize results.
    About You
  • Demonstrated success in business development, with a proven ability to engage in conceptual selling by identifying client needs, articulating complex value propositions and crafting tailored solutions that align with strategic objectives
  • Outstanding communication skills and a talent for building meaningful relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A sharp, analytical mindset, capable of spotting trends and providing actionable recommendations.
  • A passion for working in fast-paced, high-growth environments and delivering value-driven solutions.
