Business Intelligence Specialist (Supply Chain)

We are looking for a Business Data Analytics Lead to guide a team in transforming raw data into powerful commercial insights, interpreting trends, and generating recommendations to guide strategic decisions. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the delivery of our Architect 360 offering, supporting our continued success in the UK and our US expansion plans.

As the Business Data Analytics Lead, you will work in the Retail Strategy team, reporting to the Chief Customer Officer. You will collaborate closely with other client-facing teams such as Customer Success, Marketing, and Sales , as well as the Product & Engineering team, to deliver commercially meaningful, data-driven insights.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our clients and prospects rightly perceive Ometria as the foremost data-driven Customer Data and Experience Platform, by leading your team to uncover hidden revenue opportunities within a customer’s data.

Role Outcomes

  • Lead the workstreams involving data extraction, transformation, analysis, and visualisation for Ometria’s Architect 360 offering, ensuring that the team can deliver it effectively.
  • Take and understand briefs from client-facing teams, translating high-level requirements into specific data projects.
  • Partner with internal-facing teams to extract insights that can drive decisions on our product or how we serve our clients.
  • Guide the team on efficient data querying and building repeatable processes to future-proof reporting and data provision.
  • Holistically support the business by identifying data-driven opportunities, prioritising projects, and creating tools for business use, such as benchmarking.

Responsibilities

  • Be the subject matter expert when it comes to data in the Ometria platform: what is available, what it means, how to access and analyse it, and potential constraints.
  • Act as the primary point for taking and interpreting briefs from the Retail Strategy team and other stakeholders.
  • Line manage the Data Engineer
  • Prioritise and assign ad-hoc operational requests to the team, plugging the gap between platform reporting and client data needs.
  • Assess the work of the team, ensuring data accuracy and guiding them on best practices for efficient data querying.
  • Translate outcomes and insights back into commercially meaningful language for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the product & engineering team to ensure our data architecture keeps improving to enable the level of analysis Ometria’s clients need.
  • Represent the data analysis function in communication with internal teams, including Retail Strategy, Customer Success, Sales and Marketing.

Requirements

  • You have at least 3-4 years of experience as a business analyst or data analyst in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; retail focus preferred.
  • You have experience assessing data work and have previously extracted data from databases using SQL and analysed data using Python and Jupyter Notebooks.
  • You are capable of acting as a trusted advisor when presenting data and insights to key internal stakeholders in multiple departments.
  • You are able to see the bigger picture when looking at data and interpreting it from a commercial and pragmatic, result-oriented perspective.
  • You have experience in driving delivery and ownership of projects.
  • You can manage multiple priorities at the same time, and are comfortable switching to the activity that matters the most as priorities change.
  • You are able to communicate in a clear, concise and commercially-driven manner.

Benefits

  • 30 days holiday + 1 day on your birthday (plus bank holidays)
  • Health Insurance (Bupa)
  • Mental Health Support (Spill, Calm)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Enhanced Financial Benefits (Salary Sacrifice Pension, DIS, Income Protection)
