Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Our Client is a global specialist in corporate, fund and active wealth services and is looking for an experienced BI Developer to join an established, friendly team.

As a BI Developer here you will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.The role involves analysing complex datasets, creating visually compelling dashboards, and leading BI initiatives to empower stakeholders across the organisation

Key Accountabilities will include:

  • Translating business requirements into technical design document for BI Solutions

  • Responsible for generating and maintaining BI interfaces

  • Analyse large, complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities

  • Report development including transforming the data into dashboardsand creating visual insights

  • Lead and manage BI projects, ensuring timely delivery of solutions that meet business requirements

  • Effective management of multiple BI projects to include scoping, analysis, cost & risk analysis for application upgrades and data migration

  • Document objects in a data warehouse including metadata and architecture

  • Support business process optimization efforts to improve data capture, data processing and data quality

  • Automate and improve current processes

  • Help to maintain data security and data quality

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the organization's data warehouse and data governance framework

    The ideal candidate for the BI Developer role will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field

  • Ideally experience working within a financial services environment

  • 5+ years of experience as a BI Developer or a similar analytics role

  • Excellent SQL server / T-SQL knowledge

  • Database Design, Management, Data Integrity & Data Cleansing

  • Experience in designing and implementing ETL processes

  • Strong knowledge and practical understanding of Microsoft Fabric, PowerBI and Azure data services

  • Experience in developing and managing data pipelines and dataflows using Microsoft Fabric

  • Experience in working with Notebooks (PySpark, SQL, etc.) for data transformations and analysis

  • Experience in data analysis and capable of troubleshooting issue using data lineage

  • Knowledge in data modelling and related tools

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing data challenges

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex insights to non-technical stakeholders
