Great opportunity for a Business Information Analyst for our client based in Burnley.

Working for this international, growing, online retail business you will be responsible for analysing and pulling together data from various platforms, producing reports through deep analysis, and then determining the best way to represent it visually to managers and stakeholders. The BI Analyst will have proven, strong analytical skills with a commercial mindset along with knowledge/experience of SQL and Python programming.

The opportunity could be suited to a recent STEMS graduate or someone with relevant experience – training can be provided along with continued training and development – Competitive salary, benefits, hybrid or work from home, must be able to commute to Burnley on occasion.

The Role-

Data analyst responsibilities include conducting full life cycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design. Data analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

  • Interpreting data, analysing results using statistical techniques

  • Developing and implementing data analysis, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases

  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems

  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs

  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

    The Candidate-

  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst

  • Knowledge/Experience of Python programming and SQL

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, etc)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

  • Commercially aware, proactive and inquisitive
