Methods Analytics (MA) is recruiting for an Azure/Cloud Data Architect to join our team a permanent basis.

This role will be mainly remote but require flexibility to travel to client sites, and our offices based in London, Sheffield, and Bristol.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure Azure cloud architectures with a focus on data services and infrastructure.
  • Architect and manage security technologies including:
  1. Azure Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Purview
  2. Azure Key Vault, Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC
  3. NSGs, firewalls, private endpoints
  • Define and implement cloud security strategies, policies, and patterns.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks and reference architectures.
  • Integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps) using Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable data solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure-native security tools:
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Azure Firewall, Sentinel, Key Vault
  • Strong understanding of:
  1. Identity and access management (e.g., Entra ID/Azure AD, OAuth, SAML, MFA)
  2. Network security and segmentation in Azure
  3. Infrastructure as code (IaC): Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  4. Experience with Azure Data Factory (required).
  5. Knowledge of Entra ID configuration (preferred).
  6. Familiarity with SSIS is a plus.

This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected . Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.
