Cloud Database Specialist required to join an Edinburgh based company that is revolutionising their industry.

The company are taking high-precision lab technology and making it accessible and practical for real-world industrial use. Traditionally the technology has been costly, complex, and restricted to controlled lab settings, but this company has developed compact, durable devices that can perform rapid data analysis in the field. They have recently signed contracts with one of the largest players in the industry and are expecting serious growth off the back of this.

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the scalability and security of the Azure SQL Database environment. Their focus is on expanding and optimising the database infrastructure to support growing business needs while implementing rigorous security protocols to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance. To enhance data integrity and availability, you will develop robust backup and disaster recovery strategies and safeguard critical information against potential loss. Coupled with this you will provide architectural guidance to ensure the company's evolving database needs remain secure, efficient, and resilient as they scale.

Skills and Experience:

** Experience: Proven background in cloud database management, particularly with Azure SQL Database.

** Technical Knowledge: Proficient in database security, performance tuning, and optimization.

** Data Protection Skills: Familiar with database backup, recovery strategies, and ETL processes.

** Integration Proficiency: Experience in data integration and pipeline management.

** Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

Additional information:

They are currently based in the centre of Edinburgh but are preparing to relocate to a larger space within the city to support their growth plans. They offer a high degree of flexibility with work arrangements, allowing team members to choose their working hours and days, as long as tasks are completed effectively. Some employees enjoy meeting in the office occasionally, but there is no strict requirement for in-office attendance, making it a great environment for those seeking adaptable working patterns.

In terms of salary they can look anywhere between £40k - £60k and are open to the idea of someone more junior looking to learn but would also be happy to pay at the top end for someone who brings a wealth of experience.

This is an exciting chance to join a growing company at a pivotal stage as they begin to scale up. The role offers engaging, rewarding work where your insights are genuinely valued, and you're given genuine autonomy to make an impact.

If you think that you could be the right fit for this role then please apply or contact Matthew MacAlpine at Cathcart Technology on (phone number removed)
