Be among the first 25 applicants. Rayo Cloud is seeking highly skilled, Security Cleared AWS Cloud Data Engineers at all levels to design, build, and optimise data platforms on AWS. The role requires deep hands‑on experience with AWS data services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern data pipeline orchestration. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions that meet complex business requirements, while engaging effectively with senior stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and platforms using AWS services including Redshift, OpenSearch, S3, Athena, EMR, Lambda, Batch, and Glue.
  • Implement and optimise operational monitoring, automation, and maintenance workflows with AWS Step Functions, SQS, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • Use Terraform to deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for scalable and repeatable AWS deployments.
  • Containerise workloads using Docker and manage deployment environments on AWS.
  • Orchestrate and monitor data pipelines using Apache Airflow.
  • Develop robust scripts and solutions using Python, Bash, and SQL.
  • Apply networking knowledge, including Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), to ensure secure and compliant data solutions.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, with a focus on automation, testing, and deployment best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.

Requirements

  • Proven hands‑on experience with AWS data services: Redshift, OpenSearch, S3, Athena, EMR, Lambda, Batch, and Glue.
  • Strong practical knowledge of AWS operational services: Step Functions, SQS, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • Proficiency in Terraform (IaC) and Docker.
  • Demonstrated experience with Apache Airflow for data pipeline orchestration.
  • Skilled in Python, Bash, and SQL scripting.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs.
  • Proficiency in Git with GitLab, including building and deploying CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to senior stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Exposure to AWS Neptune.
  • Familiarity with Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
  • Front‑end development experience with React.
