We are seeking an experienced Automation Software Manager to lead develop and grow our specialist controls Software team. You will lead the programming, development, and execution of automation systems for industrial and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and a deep understanding of industrial automation projects. As part of our senior leadership team, you will manage a team of engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of automation software solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development, design, and implementation of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and other automation software for industrial and infrastructure projects.
Manage and oversee the end-to-end delivery of automation software solutions from design through to commissioning and support.
Develop, implement, and optimise automation system strategies for diverse applications in industrial, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to define system requirements and ensure solutions meet operational and technical specifications.
Supervise and mentor a team of automation engineers, providing guidance and expertise in PLC programming, SCADA, and related automation technologies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality, system performance, and project efficiency.
Ensure all automation solutions are compliant with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets, ensuring successful and on-time project delivery.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during system commissioning and operational phases.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in industrial automation and software development.Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric).
Strong background in SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware, WinCC, Ignition) and their integration with industrial processes.
Significant experience in industrial automation projects, ideally within Industrial Automation including infrastructure and energy sectors.
Experience managing automation software development projects, including timeline management, resource allocation, and budget control.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide, mentor, and inspire a technical team.
Deep understanding of control systems and automation protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, OPC).
Familiarity with industrial network protocols and integration techniques.
Solid knowledge of IT/OT convergence and cybersecurity within automation systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.Desirable Skills:

Master's degree or further professional qualifications in Automation or Software Engineering.
Experience in Infrastructure Automation (e.g., smart buildings, utility automation).
Knowledge of cloud-based automation solutions and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Expertise in industrial IoT (IIoT) and data analytics integration with automation systems.
