About the Data TeamThe role sits within the Data Directorate which comprises more than30 data professionals working across CDP to deliver a series ofinnovative data products and data analytical services for internaland external stakeholders including Capital Markets, Cities, Statesand Regions and Supply Chain clients. Alongside the DataGovernance, Data Engineering and Data Analytics teams, you willhelp develop and deliver exciting and impactful data solutions aswell as champion thoughtful data design in our source systems.Reporting into the Director of Data, in this role you will workclosely with colleagues in data, product and engineering tofacilitate a data ecosystem that will seamlessly support the needsof CDP and their customers. With an ability to take both a holisticview but also get into detailed requirements, you will help toguide multiple teams with the design and implementation of theirdata solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Build anenterprise-wide view of physical data models, data flows &transformations between them. - Implementation independent view ofCDP’s data concepts to unify all physical implementations. - Buildan enterprise data model. - Defining data architecture frameworks,standards and principles. - Establishing master data, source andtarget systems plus management. - Defining reference architectureto guide development of analytics solutions and source systems. -Collaborating and coordinating with multiple departments andstakeholders. - Translating business requirements into technicalspecifications including data streams, integrations,transformations, databases, data warehouses, data lakes and datalakehouses. - Work closely with the engineering teams to designsource system data solutions supporting both system and dataproduct needs. - Maintain effective working relationships withinternal stakeholders to ensure requirements are met in a smoothand efficient manner. We would like to see the following skills andexperience: - Strong aptitude for Data Modelling, Database &Data Platform Design. - Proficiency in creating logical &physical data models. - Knowledge of relational (SQL) andnon-relational (NoSQL) database systems. - Understanding of ETL/ELTProcesses. - Solid understanding of Data Integration &Architecture. - Experience with data integration. - Datawarehousing concepts. - Data flow design. - Experience working withcloud computing on Azure or similar platforms. - Strong knowledgeand experience of Data Governance & Data Management and theirimplementation. - Understanding of Data Quality techniques. -Proficient in SQL & Python. - Knowledge of BI & Analytics.- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI. - Able to designsystems to support a data driven organisation. - Experience withAgile development methodologies. - Familiarity with collaborationtools such as DevOps. - Ability to consider problems from bothmicro & macro levels plus across time to deliver solutionswhich are scalable, robust and flexible. - Critical thinking,problem solving and ability to work with large datasets. - Strongcommunication and presentation skills and the ability to conveycomplex concepts to non-data experts in English. - Attention todetail and commitment to achieving high standards. - A passion for‘designing for data’ and champion of its use. This is a permanent,full-time role based out of the CDP office in London, reporting tothe Director of Data.
