Do you have a background in data science and/or computer science with a run of working on AI projects and tools from Natural Language Processing (NLP) to Intelligent Automation (IA) to trying and training of Large Language Models (LLMs) for interactive AI applications across various IT systems? Have you worked with your IT colleagues to build out new AI applications that help users apply AI in their every day lives? Do you want to be using the latest AI tools and working on use cases that can be built into the latest deployed apps to make a difference in clinical trials? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to help take the reins of a groundbreaking project at Medpace.

We are currently seeking a professional with direct experience interacting with artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as NLP, LLM, IA etc.

Skills and training in natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning will be critical for this role.

This professional will be expected to lead the programming and fine-tuning of various AI tools and helping the IT team to implement them into new applications.

This professional will work collaboratively across the organisation with multiple teams to help design the roadmap for how AI can improve efficiency of company processes and provide insights and assistance to users.

Applicants should have sufficient technical skills to help lead these types of AI projects independently and to train technical teams for support.

Responsibilities Research the latest AI tools from NLP to LLM to multi-agent capabilities to ensure we are maintaining a clear direction on the best in class AI; Support the build and Implementation of private, large language models, fine-tuned based on both structured and text-based data inputs; Integrate artificial intelligence to support AI applications that interact with the various AI tools through capabilities such as APIs; Contribute to data and AI architecture review discussions, and support structural changes as needed; Help drive AI technology thinking within the company across all departments; Support departmental process improvement initiatives; and Participate in educating, training and development of more junior team members.

Qualifications Masters or PhD in engineering, computer or data science, or related field.

Proven experience implementing and fine-tuning Large Language Models or interactive AI applications (either >1 year post-graduate experience, or PhD dissertation experience).

Strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and deep learning.

Preferably several years of experience working with different AI capabilities and showcasing your passion both at work and outside work in the utilization of AI.

Technical proficiency in programming languages and frameworks commonly used in NLP and AI (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently and mentor technical teams.

A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP and AI technologies.

Analytical thinker with great attention to detail.
