3PL Contract Manager
Our client, a leading consumer brand, is seeking a dynamic 3PL Contract Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in enhancing their logistics operations. This position is remotely based but requires daily travel to their warehouses so a home-base around Derby would provide perfect access.
About the Role:
As an integral member of our client's logistics team, you will collaborate closely with all departments to optimise and drive service and operational excellence in partnership with third-party logistics providers. The role demands proactive involvement in a range of activities aimed at ensuring seamless logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Analysis: Evaluate 3PL performance metrics and implement root cause analyses and action plans to enhance daily, weekly, and monthly performance.
  • Resource Management: Ensure operational resources align with business forecasts and manage day-to-day logistics operations to meet timely delivery goals.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Issue timely 3PL service reports, audit KPI performances, and ensure compliance with SOPs.
  • Cost Efficiency: Develop and deliver cost reduction initiatives, validate and reconcile 3PL invoices, and enhance inventory accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements and support IT developments affecting 3PL operations.
    Measures of Success:
  • Timely reporting and delivery of 3PL KPIs
  • Implementation of documented improvement plans and performance escalations
  • Cost reduction and invoice accuracy
  • Enhanced inventory integrity and successful IT project executions
