Position summary: We are looking for a talented andmotivated Senior Applied Scientist to help improve the performanceof our targeting and optimization products. The Applied Scienceteam at Sojern develops services and pipelines to optimizeadvertising campaign performance and applies machine learning atscale for thousands of customers. We utilize a range of algorithmsand methods to do this including: * Bayesian statistics andsupervised learning to model conversion rates and revenue * Linearprogramming to balance campaign objectives * Scaled AI/ML withTensorflow/Vertex AI to model a travelers propensity to book As apart of the Science and Optimization team, we deliver through thefull data product life-cycle: from prototyping to productiondevelopment to A/B testing and measurement. This provides each teammember the opportunity to gain additional experience with a rangeof technologies such as Tensorflow, Vertex AI, Docker and theGoogle Cloud Platform. What you will do: * Design and maintainmachine learning models to optimize campaign targeting * Model keyperformance advertising metrics like conversion rates and clickthrough rates, and use those metrics to automate estimation ofcampaign bids and budgets * Improve systems that optimize campaignperformance and pacing * Implement machine learning pipelines onGoogle Cloud Platform * Write and ship production-level python code* Write and execute complex SQL queries to extract and transformdata from various sources * Collaborate with other appliedscientists, software engineers and product managers to design andimplement solutions based on business requirements * Document codeand processes for future reference and maintainability.Participate in the entire Agile development lifecycle, includingsprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives What you bring tothe table: Essentials * You have hands-on experience buildingproduction-level ML and data products. * You have expert-levelunderstanding of data science topics. * You have at least two yearsexperience as an applied scientist / data scientist / ML engineer.You have an MS or PhD in computer science or a quantitativediscipline, or equivalent experience. * You have written and putPython code into production and can reason about algorithmicefficiency. * You have strong knowledge of cloud computingplatforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. * You can designand apply machine learning models (supervised, unsupervised,reinforcement learning etc.) to solve business problems. * You caneffectively communicate with applied scientists, data scientists,engineers and product managers. * You can evaluate, analyze andinterpret model results resulting in further improvement ofexisting statistical model performance * You can perform complexdata analysis using SQL/Jupyter notebook to find underlying issuesand propose a solution to stakeholders explaining the varioustrade-offs associated with the solution. * You can use your gritand initiative to fill in gaps and drive projects to completionNice to have * You have experience with Google Cloud Platform * Youhave good knowledge of at least one other programming language inaddition to Python (Go, C++, etc.) * You have experience withDocker * You have at least one year of experience within the AdTech ecosystem What we have for you: We take a whole-personapproach to create a Sojernista Experience that allows our peopleto thrive, not just as employees, but as humans.
