About The Role

We’re looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our IT team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll work closely with our Information & Systems Architect and Business Analyst to design and build Azure-based data solutions that support data collection, storage, processing, and analysis. This is a hands‑on role focused on SQL Server (Azure Managed Instance), Azure Data Factory pipelines, and collaboration with our Power Platform team to support UI development. This is a hybrid position, working 2–3 days from our Manchester office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable data solutions using Azure technologies.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory.
  • Collaborate with Power Platform developers to support data interfaces for PowerApps and Dynamics 365.
  • Participate in regular Data Team meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.

What We’re Looking For

  • SQL Server development (Azure Managed Instance)
  • ETL/ELT processing
  • Azure Data Factory pipeline development

Ability To

  • Collaborate effectively with architects, analysts, and developers
  • Communicate technical concepts to non‑technical colleagues
  • Document IT processes and provide realistic time estimates

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with Azure Fabric and Python Notebooks
  • Degree-level education (preferred but not essential)
