Head of Talent | Recruitment, Talent Acquisition

Overview of the role

Continually drive efficiencies in personnel and operations costs through business partnering and process improvement. Own retail personnel costs (£140m annual spend) and ensure adherence to budget / forecast through insightful MI and stakeholder management.

The role is hybrid working with 3 days in the office, and 2 days working from home.

Main Responsibilities
  • Regular MI and Reporting
    • Focal point for all personnel MI with the retail operation, translating large amounts of data into insightful analysis
    • Ensure delivery of relevant weekly / monthly reports
    • Responsible for production of regular store contribution reports
    • Respond in a timely manner to stakeholder requests
    • Maintain data quality ensuring data policies are adhered to and troubleshooting data-related problems
  • Business Partnering
    • Attend regular sessions with senior finance business partner and heads of operations to understand and challenge monthly performance
    • Develop, foster and maintain working relationships
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Work with finance and operations stakeholders to prepare personnel budgets and forecasts
    • Key point of contact for MaxE model, collaborating with operations and external parties to update measures
    • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
    • Report and track budget performance, provide timely variance analysis, understanding cost drivers
    • Participates in or contributes to other appropriate activities as required by the business

Key knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • Part qualified accountant and / or previous payroll experience
  • Excellent excel and communication skills
  • Power BI and other data visualistion tools
  • Experience of resource planning models
  • Able to build & maintain great relationships with colleagues & key external stakeholders

Problem solving & change:

  • Ability to analyse high volumes of data
