The Role

We are hiring for a Graduate Consultant to join our Analytics + Foresight Hub, an expert data team that sits within our Systems Consulting Practice. Applicants should have a genuine interest in data science, specifically seeking a role applying a wide range of techniques to a variety of real-world problems. Broadly, your role will involve using data to improve understanding and decision making.

As a Graduate Consultant at DAS Ltd, you will:

  • Aid the delivery of highly complex projects with national impact
  • Learn and apply a range of data science techniques, including:

- Data Visualisation (e.g., Dashboarding and Visualisation)
- Analysis (e.g., EDA, cost-benefit)
- Modelling (AI, ML, System Dynamics Modelling)

  • Be proficient in Python, and have experience of other languages such as R and Javascript
  • Drive efficiency and continuous improvement through each phase of a project and identify opportunities to add value
  • Demonstrate core consulting skills, such as listening and questioning, and the ability to build strong working relationships both with our clients, and the wider team at DAS Ltd
  • Collaborate with a team of experts in:

- Analytics
- Systems modelling
- Futures approaches

  • Engage in all stages of project delivery, as required:

- Requirements capture
- Data collection and pre-processing
- Model development and evaluation
- Presenting results

  • Develop data science-based solutions collaboratively with clients in multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

About You

You have a keen interest in AI/ML and have built out your technical data science skills through study. You will enjoy learning and developing your technical skills with hands-on delivery of consultancy assignments directly to clients, working independently or within client/consultant teams, and contributing to the continued development of the practice.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree or equivalent within a STEM or statistically based field (science, technology, engineering, maths, or psychology)
  • Knowledge in the development and application of data science and data analytics approaches such as:

- Knowledge and experience in programming e.g. Python and/or R
- Experience working with complex structured, unstructured and disparate datasets
- Knowledge of ML / AI techniques

  • The ability to learn and build understanding of complex subject matter at a fast pace
  • Self-motivation and proactivity
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including conveying technical results to a non-technical audience
  • UK nationality and UK primary residency for the past 5 years
