A leading trading firm is seeking an AWS Scheduling Tool Specialist to design, optimise, and maintain an AWS-based scheduling system supporting front-office trading operations. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient compute resource management, improving performance, and enhancing computational workflows. Working at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, high-performance computing (HPC), and low-level programming, this position requires expertise in optimising latency-sensitive systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an AWS-based scheduling system to support trading and computation-heavy processes
- Improve scheduling efficiency, optimising compute resource distribution across AWS infrastructure
- Enhance alpha computation strategies through parallel processing and efficient resource management
- Develop and refine performance-critical components using C, C++, or Rust
- Identify and address computational bottlenecks to improve execution speed and system efficiency
- Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts, and technologists to align computational strategies with business objectives
- Implement system monitoring tools and proactively troubleshoot performance issues
Skills and Experience
- Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, Batch, Step Functions, S3)
- Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, Python, or Go
- Expertise in low-level system optimisations, memory management, and CPU/GPU performance tuning
- Experience in designing distributed systems for high-performance and latency-sensitive workloads
- Familiarity with trading systems, market-making, or financial front-office operations is advantageous
- Knowledge of HPC technologies such as MPI, CUDA, or OpenMP is beneficial
